Announcing UNCW & Athenian Press's first ever STUDENT FEMME SLAM! Join us at the Cameron Art Museum on October 4 at 7 p.m. for a student-only poetry competition sponsored by the UNCW Office of the Arts and the CAM, as part of the SEVEN residency. EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND.

12 students will go head-to-head with their poem, lyric, monologue, or rap. The only rule is that it must be original work, and no longer than 3 minutes. This all-student poetry slam will include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes of $100, $75, and $50.

Sign up is FREE, but spots are first come first serve. Students must commit to arrive at the Cameron Art Museum by 6:30 p.m. Please try to sign up by September 30!

Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Cameron Art Museum. Show starts at 7:30. Light refreshments and beverages will be for sale at the CAM cafe. The slam competition will be preceded by performances by two local performance artists. The night will be emceed by Athenian founder and award-winning poet and author Khalisa Rae. Event includes artist vendors and books for sale! This event is made possible by the collaboration with the CAM and the UNCW Office of the Arts, as part of the SEVEN residency with LA Theatre Works.
